Journal Articles have components, but differ from journal to journal depending upon their types, for example, if it is research-based, it might contain research questions or objectives, rationale and significance of the work, literature review, research design and procedure, etc; whereas if it is a knowledge based theoretical based, what and how aspect will be maintained. However, the most common components of a journal article are: title, abstract, key words, body and reference, and in some articles, besides those subparts, method is also embodied.
- Title: written at beginning, all lexical words capitalized (only first etter) and grammatical words longer than three letter spelling title in phrase form and no full stop given
- Abstract: gest of whole writing, written only in few words, less than 150 words
- Key words: The key special words that are used in the text/journal re mentioned here.
- Body of the journal: it includes different sub-components which differ according to the types i.e. sub- components of the body under research-based and knowledge/experience based article. In articles, the body parts may not be overtly expressed but realized in writing, for example, INTRODUCATION is realized in the first paragraph, etc. As it depends on the writer's style, in might also have thesis statement, topic sentence, supporting details, findings, discussion and conclusion. Research based articles generally consist of Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results ad Discussion and Conclusion.
